STLF Staff Grows to Seven!
Tanya Schmitt joins the STLF Staff on January 4 as the Manager of College Leadership!
Author: Tanya Schmitt, STLF
It is with great excitement that I write my first blog post after my first week at STLF National. After leaving the office in September for 4 months, I returned on January 4th for my first day as a full time staff member. I was part of STLF’s first internship program during Summer 2009, and recently finished my final semester at the University of Minnesota—Twin Cities. I am now the Manager of College Leadership and will be working primarily with college students in high school and college tours; trainings, retreats, and conferences; and our internship program.
It is a great time to join the team with a lot coming up to be very excited about. We crossed the border for a staff retreat this week in Alma, WI, a town that is now near to all of our hearts. It was a fantastic opportunity to get on board with the organization’s current work and spend some quality time with the staff. With the @15 Change Exchange, February high school PIF tours, and a full 5 weeks of college tours in March there is a lot to work on. I can’t imagine a job that would be more fulfilling and better match my current passion and future goals.
I look forward to further developing relationships I already have within STLF’s network and meeting more in the months and years to come. This organization and the people involved continue to inspire me and strengthen my belief that our generation is capable of great things.
