Staff Retreat Kicks Off the Year
STLF welcomes new staff and new ideas, preparing for the year's success.
Author: Irene Fernando, STLF
Staff come together at retreats throughout the year in order to reflect, learn, explore, and prepare. It is always full of excitement and energy for the year. We are here together at a beautiful cabin thanks to the Untiedts, and looking forward to the year ahead.
A highlight for this year is transitions. Earlier this year we celebrated the transition of Greg Tehven and Josh Reimnitz. Greg Tehven is the first Co-Executive Director transitioning out, upholding STLF's Core Model and continuing his personal leadership journey through travel. Josh Reimnitz is a 2008 NDSU grad from Bismarck, ND and has spent the last two years in Atlanta as a Teach For America corps member.
Adding to this celebration is the transitioning out of Cody Nelson, as well as the transitioning in of Danny Walter and Bill Breon. Cody Nelson is taking his next step by pursuing a Masters in Public Policy at the University of Minnesota, preparing for his future contributions to the world. Danny Walter is a 2009 UND grad from Centerville, OH and will be a newlywed on September 5th! Bill Breon is a 2009 JCU grad from Churchville, NY and is most known in STLF for his inspirational messages and catching a fish with his bare hands.
The retreat has been in an incredible time for us to reflect on the past year, celebrate successes, and prepare to go full steam ahead into the future. Currently, STLF is a strong, financiaally healthy, and sustainable organziation that is committed to innovation and the lives of young people. We look forward to sharing our vision and plans with you in the coming months!
