Colleagues Today Leaders Forever..?

Former Twin Cities STLF student leaders are big kids now, currently working for Twin Cities youth organizations.

Every year the Best Practices Youth Summit brings leaders of Twin Cities youth organizations together.  It is a casual gathering that allows us to share ideas and make connections. This year the Summit succeeded in convening a wonderful group.

My excitement continued to increase when I saw two beautiful, talented faces at the door... as COLLEAGUES. 

I met Nick Wiebusch (below left) and Janae Olinger (below right) years ago while they were still in college.  I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with them as they served various leadership roles within STLF.  Being part of their personal growth has been phenomenal, and I am truly grateful to consider them both friends.

Currently, Nick serves as an Americorps Vista for an awesome organization called Everybody Wins! Minnesota.  Janae works for BestPrep, an organization STLF has considered friends for years.  I had great fun addressing my former students as "colleagues" every few seconds.  I jokingly informed them that together, we could found "Colleagues Today Leaders Forever" for former STLFers that are now contributing to the youth space.

Words can't express how proud I am of Nick, Janae, and all the other STLFers who are continuing their STLF experience in their life work.
