“Big Week” Represents Months of Planning
We are in the thick of College Pay it Forward Tour Season. The most common Spring Break week is affectionately called “Big Week” among STLFers because of the number of Tours that go out.

However, Big Week is a lot more than a week, it represents the entire College Tour Season as well as months of planning from college leaders. A college campus possesses a cross section of energies that, for me, is quite surreal. An incredible portion of my life today can be attributed to the friendships, experiences, and connections I was able to have while at the University of Minnesota.
Today, I am at the University of Oklahoma (OU) in Norman, OK. For a lot of campuses across the country, OU included, today is Friday before Spring Break. I get to go on the first Pay it Forward Tour out of Oklahoma… and it leaves today! There are a total of 22 Pay it Forward Tours that are set to depart today, and there are 4 Pay it Forward Tours returning home.
College Pay it Forward Tour Season represent how STLF started, and where it is going in the future. As an organization founded because of college Spring Break, the College Tour Season has a special spot in my heart.
Over a 5-week span, STLF will send out 33 Pay it Forward Tours… all thanks to the dedication and perseverance of our college leaders. Because of their leadership, these 33 Tours also mean:
- Over 1,200 people Tours
- Over 20,000 hours of service contributed
- Over 150 unique communities served
This also means that STLF is hitting 6 figures... for its service hours! After College Tour Season, STLF will be at over 100,000 hours served to the community. A huge thank you and “yeah buddy” goes out to the college leaders for their leadership, and for the participants for choosing the Pay it Forward Tour!
